My favorite part of these boots is the sole - it's all rubber, so there's some grip on slippery sidewalks. They also just look sharp. I wasn't aware that the boot can make your feet look longer - to me they looked fine. A friend tried mine on and said, "These make my feet look huge." Take that as you will.The suede is high quality, the elastic is very strong. I can easily see this boot lasting through 3 winters, which is a relief as I was tired of wearing my Sorels to the office.These shoes run large. I am a size 10 with slightly wide foot and narrow ankle. I had to return the size 10 pair I’d purchased for a 9-1/2 and they fit well. I got them in the Merlot color which is a rich, deep purplish burgundy. They don’t have much arch support, but the rubber sole and low heel make them very comfortable. I highly recommend them!I really love this product is so comfortable I can wear them everyday without sacrificing my feet. I normally wear a size 8 but they were to big the 7.5 fit prefect.I bought half a size up, I really wanted size 9 so it's kinda big but roomy enough to wear with socks.The Shetland boot by The Flexx and my feet were made for one another! The style, "pic a winner" was my introduction to the brand. And though they are beautiful it is the Shetland that I live in. I own black, brown and Merlot suede. They are truly timeless, the ultimate cool Chelsea bootie. And if style wasn't enough, these bad boys have kept so comfortable - warm, dry, and happy during the wettest of wet and bleakest cold winters of Western Europe and the Pacific Northwest. I wear a standard 8m in heels and usually an 8.5 in bootsor sneakers, etc. I found these run a smidgen on the roomy. I have a high arch and skinny foot. I take an 8 in Shetland and add a thin leather insert for a perfect fit. Oh, and they hold up insanely well. I'm hard, hard, hard on my shoes - like little kid hard. After a quick brushing, these look good as new.
